Clinical ayurvedic management of developmental disorders
Developmental disorders are a group, for which modern medical system has
less to offer where as it is an area where Ayurveda can give promising results when clubbed with effective incorporaton of modified Panchakarma therapies.
At present, the specialty clinic on Developmental disorders has gained prime notice in recent years by dispensing this specialty care.
Welfare activities for enabling the disabled children
The felid of Developmental disorders not only requires efficient handling of clinical condition but also to sooth and allay the emotions of those children and their parents. This insight laid foundation for estabilsment of the WARD (Welfare Association for Rehabilitation of Differentially abled Children)
which is working successfully to provide speciality Ayurveda treatment rehabilitation aids and free dispensing of medicines for Below poverty line ailing children.
They are also receiving physiotherapy for a nominal fee .While the mission is to start speech therapy and vocational training to these differcultially abled kids.
Printing and publishing of ayurvedic study and research materials
Achievements when pened, would serve as excellent records and at the same time they would enlighten the contemrporarty and future doctors of the same community. In this regard, Dr. Ramachandran is planning to publish a textbook on Kaumarabhritya incorporating the scientific explanations. Dept activities
of recent activities in the field of pedicatrics are being published in ‘SAISAVAM’, the official quarterly newsletter of the Department of Kaumarabhritya. Apart from
this Dr.Ramachandran has published number of research articles in both English and Malayalam research and monthly magazines.
Popularization of ayurvedic child care among public
Traditional Kaumarabhritya practices are prevalent only in few islands of Kerala.These after blending with scientific approach are being practiced in
our hospital. Dr.Ramachaadran is putting great effort to popularize the same in Ayurvedic community by couducting periodic workshops, seminars and Reorientation
programmes, while SAISAVAM has been his literary weapon to spread these developments. Public awareness is being achieved through monthly screening camps.
